Our comprehensive training programs cover everything from puppy basics to obedience, reactivity, and even scent work. With our expert team of professionals on board, you can trust that your dog is receiving the very best instruction. Our staff includes ex-military, ex-police, civilian dog trainers, and behavioralists, who are all fully insured for your peace of mind. Plus, our transport vehicles are DEFRA Class 2 and feature full air conditioning for maximum comfort.

At our school, we firmly believe in the power of positive reinforcement. That's why we never resort to compulsion methods such as e-collars or prong collars. Our passionate team is dedicated to helping your dog thrive and reach their full potential through effective, reward-based training techniques.

Get ready to see your dog transform before your very eyes.

Robert
Robert Metcalfe

My name is Robert Metcalfe, I'm the main training instructor at One To One Dog Training School. During my remarkable journey spanning over four decades in the field of dog training, I have amassed an impressive list of achievements and a wealth of experience.

My passion for working with dogs and training began at the young age of 8, and I have continued to pursue this passion throughout my life. Now, at 51 years old, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise gathered from personally training over 35,000 dogs throughout my career.

One of my notable accomplishments includes working with high-profile clients such as Matthew Upston, the former England football player, and his Doberman, as well as Molly Abbott, the supermodel and her Doberman. I have also had the privilege of working with distinguished individuals such as the Prince of Bahrain and a Rottweiler puppy in London, among many other high-class clients. I take pride in providing my expertise and guidance to clients from all backgrounds, offering professional dog training services to anyone in need.

I hold an impressive list of qualifications, including NASDU Level 2 GP Dog Handler, NASDU Level 3 Proactive Drugs Detection Handler, NASDU Level 3 Drugs Passive Detection Dog Handler, and a Level 3 qualification as a dog trainer. These qualifications demonstrate my commitment to continuous learning and my dedication to staying at the forefront of industry standards.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with various police forces and prisons, supplying dogs to institutions such as HMP Manchester, where I provided licensed dogs in May 2023. I continue to collaborate with HMP dog instructors, participating in weekly training sessions every Saturday in Kent. This collaboration allows me to enhance my expertise and stay connected with the latest developments in the field.

With a broad reach that extends across Europe and the UK, I offer personalised one-to-one and residential dog training services. My expertise covers a wide range of areas, including obedience training, behaviour modification, and specialised skills such as drug detection. I am dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each client and their dog, delivering exceptional results through my personalised approach.

My passion for dog training has remained steadfast throughout my career, and I am committed to making a positive impact in the lives of countless dogs and their owners. My vast experience, extensive qualifications, and unwavering dedication to my craft make me a sought-after professional in the field of dog training. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your training goals.

Brief Career History to Present Day

I supply Personal Protection Dogs and Drug Detection Dogs in addition to supplying training services for security dog handler roles.

I also produce and supply dogs to various agencies including but not limited to HMP Prisons, several Police Forces and the Defence Animal Centre MOD

Brief Overview of Dog training involvement

I have been involved with the training of dogs for almost 30 years now and in that time I have trained and supplied many dogs for various agencies including the Security Industry

I have also on several occasions acted as decoy for several Police Forces and worked as a decoy on several Police Service Dog Trials in different parts of the UK

I have worked extensively within the private security sector as a Trainer of both Drug Detection and General Purpose Security Dogs using positive reward based training methods

For the past 4 years I have worked extensively with XL Bully dogs training them with skills learned and developed through my career. I am often the ‘last chance saloon’ for a lot of the dogs that come to me as they tend to have unwanted and in some cases bad behaviours. Experience has taught me the best way to re train the dogs to achieve the best possible outcomes and as such I have an extremely large client base.

I currently hold the below accreditation;

  • PTTLLS (Teaching Accreditation)

  • NTIPDU Level 2 and 3 Instructor ( National Training Inspectorate for Professional Dog Users) Retired

  • SIA Accreditation (Front Line)

  • NEBOSH (Safety)
