Training a Retriever

We are Retriever Training specialists, working with all breeds of retriever from twelve weeks old. Retrievers are a group of highly intelligent and versatile dogs, known for their friendly nature and exceptional retrieving instincts. The most common types are the Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever, all originally bred for hunting and retrieving game. The breed's history dates back to the 19th century, with the first retrievers being bred in the UK to assist hunters by retrieving shot game due to their keen noses, intelligence, and strong swimming abilities. Retrievers have since become one of the most popular breeds worldwide, excelling in various roles including service work, therapy, detection, and search-and-rescue. Due to their eager-to-please nature and high trainability, retrievers require early and consistent training to ensure they develop into well-behaved, confident dogs. Whether you are looking to train your retriever for basic obedience or advanced skills, it’s important to start early to ensure a positive, well-rounded companion.
